The 2026 VPA Leadership Academy is a time for Vermont’s school leaders to come together—through times of change, challenge, and opportunity—to connect, rejuvenate, and grow. This annual gathering celebrates the strength and dedication of educational leadership across our state. Many districts and supervisory unions attend as full teams, while others join in smaller groups or as individuals. Whether you are returning once again or stepping into leadership for the first time, the 2026 Academy offers an invaluable experience of learning, connection, and shared purpose.

Changes for 2026? Yes! You may have noticed several changes to the previous Academy format. Here are some of the bigger changes:

  • The Academy begins on Wednesday, instead of Tuesday
  • The full Academy program is taking place over two days, instead of 2 and 1/2. This helps cut down on overnight and registration costs for attendees.
  • Instead of the third day being a 1/2 day closing session, we are offering an “opt-in” Friday with VPA led workshops for an additional $200
  • The School Leaders of the Year event has been moved to a luncheon instead of a dinner. This is an afternoon celebrating leadership, service, and collaboration among Vermont school leaders.

These adjustments are based on exit ticket feedback and committee planning meetings. We are hopeful they will enhance the event and make your learning experience even better.

To reserve space, you have to contact Mallori directly at mlongevin@vpaonline.org. The reservations for these spaces go through the VPA during this week, not directly with Killington.

Cancellation Policy

  • For all Vermont Principals’ Association professional learning events, the VPA must receive notice of any cancellation at least 10 days prior to the event. Cancellations made after this 10‑day deadline will incur a fee equal to 50% of the total registration cost, and cancellations made within 24 hours of the event will be invoiced at 100%. This policy is necessary because food and venue counts are finalized 10 days before the event and cannot be reduced; at that point, the VPA is obligated to pay the venue and therefore cannot waive the fee. Thank you for your understanding.
