VPA National Member Associations

National Federation of High School Sports (NFHS)

The NFHS is the body that writes the rules of competition for most high school sports and activities in the United States. Most high schools, whether public or private, belong to their state’s high school association; in turn, each state association belongs to the NFHS. Over 17,000 high schools belong to associations that are members of the NFHS.

National Association of Secondary School Principals(NASSP)

NASSP is the leading organization of and voice for middle level and high school principals, assistant principals, and school leaders from across the United States and 35 countries around the world.

National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP)

As a national organization, NAESP operates through a network of affiliated associations in every state, the District of Columbia, Canada, and overseas.

Says Randolph Elementary School’s Principal, Erica McLaughlin, “As a NAESP member I greatly appreciate the professional readings available in the “Principal” magazine. The articles are a great way to engage staff in educational discussions. I also appreciate the access to the NAESP office as a resource in helping me find archived articles when needed. I recently had parents and staff seeking info on whether there should be homework given or not and NAESP was able to send me resources to review and consider. I am also very thankful for NAESP’s loud national voice. I know that when I am at school there are others from NAESP that are advocating on our behalf in Washington DC. That is only possible with membership from the field.”
