Members Present: D.G. Weaver, Bill Lawson, Cynthia Hinrichsen, Frank Pecora, Dan Marlow, Pam Arnold, Chris Hodsden, Bob Johnson

Also Present: Chris Keller, Phil Keller, Suzanna Keller, Liam McSweeney, Ed McSweeney, Travis Madore, Frank Madore, Serge Zola, Ingeborg White, Corey Payson

Minutes:

- motion by Cynthia, second by D.G., to approve the minutes of 1/24 & 1/25/08. Vote – approved unanimously.

- discussion on cross-country Member to Member issue. Bob J. gave an update as to the survey results from the Athletic Directors. Four AD’s provided written comments. 32 completed a survey on the question. 11 supported the request to consider cross-country running as a team sport, 22 opposed. Discussion from committee members and audience.

Motion by Chris H., second by Cynthia , to allow cross-country running to be classified as a team sport under the current Member to Member Program. Vote – Yes – 1, No – 4, motion defeated.

- hardship/age waiver request from Winooski HS (Executive Session).

Motion by Chris H., second by D.G., to grant Serge Zola a hardship/age waiver for the Fall 2008. This would allow Serge to participate in Fall 2008 activities only. Vote – approved unanimously.

- hardship waiver request from Bellows Falls UHS (Executive Session)

Motion by D.G., second by Frank , to grant Travis Madore an extra year of Eligibility. This would allow Frank to participate in Spring 2008 Baseball. Vote – approved unanimously.

- Bob J. and Pam gave an update on the meeting with VT Amateur Hockey. There actually two requests from this group. One is to allow girl’s to play in two showcase events and the second is to allow girl’s to play on two select teams for the remainder of the hockey season (on Sunday’s and off-days). No specific action taken. A second meeting will be set soon.

- Brief discussion on the out – of – season coaching policy. Bob J. is getting questions as to whether this covers “volunteer’ coaches. Bob’s interpretation is that is does. ASC agrees with this interpretation. No further action.
