– request from West Rutland, Poultney and Milton for a waiver
of the home “white” uniform requirement. Discussion
Motion by Bill, second by Amy, to grant West Rutland, Poultney and
Milton a one year waiver of the home “white” uniform
rule (2007-2008 season). Vote – approved unanimously. Note
– the committee will not entertain this type of request for
2008-2009.
- review of
2006 – 2007 season. All seemed to go well. No major issues
noted in regular season or tournament.
- discussion
on survey sent to schools (coaches) concerning the format of the
tournament game at Barre Auditorium. Of the schools that responded,
the majority favored the switch that would move D II and D IV to
Monday and Wednesday and D III to Thursday. Also would change alignment
of Saturday to D IV, D II and then D III. Motion by Amy, second
by Bill, to formally adjust Barre tournament schedule to have D
II and D IV compete on Monday and Wednesday and D III on Thursdays
for semi-finals. Also implement format change on Saturday so that
D IV, then D II and then D III (one year only) would be the order.
Vote – approved unanimously. Bob J. will pass on to Activity
Standards.
- Rules changes
– Dan explained that there were no major changes this year.
Most of the changes listed were clarifications of previous rules.
- Discussion
on alignment procedures Basketball Committee will use for next Divisional
alignment cycle. David M. recommends that core sports be aligned
by dividing the number of school by 4 (divisions) after petitions
for movement up have been considered. Appeals would then go to the
committee for discussion.
Bruce V. will
meet with committee chairs from soccer and baseball before ASC meeting
on 11/3/07 to see if the sports can come in with a common agreement.
Bruce will also contact chair of softball about this also. No further
action.
- revised basketball
guide. Note that Girl’s go second this year and next year.
- adjourned. |
