VPA FIELD HOCKEY COMMITTEE

Members Present: Mary Stetson, Ed Cooke, Laura Parro, Deb Warner, Julie Fifield, Sharon Winzler, Barb Burns-Maynard, Amy Molina, Melba Masse, Sumner Erbe, Bob Johnson

Minutes:

- seeded tournament brackets.

- question – is Spaulding Division I or II. When MMU moved up from DII to DI and Rice went from DII to DIII, was Spaulding going to be moved? This has created an alignment issue with DII as only 7 schools are now in the division. Ideally, divisions should be a 10/10/10 split. Solution – ask all DIII schools if they are willing to move to DII. Note – during meeting Spaulding called in and indicated they are DI school in field hockey.

- need to remind schools that during the play-offs, adults are needed as score keepers.

- at UVM, ticket sellers will be inside. Changing room will be available for officials and in-door space will be made available for teams if weather is bad.
