The VPA Hall of Fame was formed in January 2001 to honor and recognize outstanding individuals who have had a significant and lasting impact on the lives of Vermont students for their involvement in high school athletic and fine arts programs.
The Selection Committee of the Vermont Principals’ Association Hall of Fame is pleased to announce the selection of the Class of 2013. The twelve members of this year’s class have distinguished themselves in schools, on courts and fields, and among their peers. This year’s inductees include:
Steve Houghton, Burr & Burton Academy, Manchester, VT. Dedicated coach, AD, and Assistant Headmaster. Originator of VPA Hall of Fame.
Tom Conte, St. Johnsbury Academy, St. Johnsbury, VT. Longtime AD, VPA Committee Chair, Advocate for student-athletes and his community.

Jasmyn Huntington, Oxbow High School, Bradford, VT ~ Basketball. Prolific scorer for the Olympians in the mid-1990s for legendary coach Mona Garone.
Erin Sullivan, Mt. Mansfield Union High School, Jericho, VT ~ X-C Running. One of the finest runners ever in VT. Vermont, New England, and National Champion.
Oliver “Ollie” Dunlap, BFA St. Albans, St. Albans, VT ~ Football, Basketball, Track. Distinguished athletic career at BFA. Averaged over 26 ppg. his senior year in football.
Rory Grimes, St. Johnsbury Academy, St. Johnsbury, VT ~ Basketball, Track, Soccer. Perhaps the finest point guard in VT basketball history. Averaged 21.5 ppg. over his career.
Denny Miles, Soccer Officiating, Northfield, VT. Officiated soccer for 3 decades, baseball and softball umpire for over 20 years.

Orrie Jay, Burlington High School, Burlington, VT, Legendary baseball coach. Record of 323/94 in 29 years. Mentor to 3 decades of BHS students.
Alan Plante, Mt. Anthony Union High School, Bennington, VT. A 37 year coaching career in baseball, 39 years in basketball. Committee to Mt. Anthony community.
Steve Ferreira, Essex High School, Essex Jct., VT, 43 years as Head Baseball coach. VT leader in career wins (527). Enthusiastic coach and teacher.
